Purpose of the Position:
Volunteers are essential to the operations of our organization. The Nonprofit Resource Center is a small nonprofit that provides information and training to other nonprofits across the state. Because our staff is small and our service area is large, we depend on volunteers to help us serve our customers, maintain our library, and conduct research to support our programs.

Essential Duties:
Conduct reference interviews, provide instruction in use of books and databases, shelving, filing, conduct research for NPRC staff, assist librarian in organizing and conducting seminars. Examples of projects with which we need volunteer assistance include updating our mailing lists, conducting customer surveys and developing a database of Bexar County nonprofit organizations.

Remarks:
As a special library, the Nonprofit Resource Center offers a wide range of opportunities for professional development. Library volunteers have the chance to gain experience and training in reference, BI, cataloging, collection development, and program development. In addition, our volunteers can take any of our workshops at no charge, in return for their service, at the rate of one six-hour workshop for each fifteen hours of volunteer work.
